Week #37 – November 24-29, 2020
Kriya for Preparatory Exercises for Lungs, Magnetic Field & Deep Meditation

Overview

WEEK 37 – Kriya for Preparatory Exercises for Lungs, Magnetic Field & Deep Meditation

This set works on coordination and repair of the nervous system by stimulating the Heart Center. Your normal feelings of happiness, connection, and well-being depend on the balance of your individual psychoelectromagnetic field. If your field is strong, your muscles obey the message nerves, and the message nerves send strong signals to the brain.

Remember – If you are on your Moon/Menstrual cycle no held breath, substitute with long and deep breathing.

CHANTS in this Kriya include:

Adi Mantra – I bow to the Creative Wisdom. I bow to the Divine Teacher within. This mantra is used to access the divine flow and self-knowledge within each of us. We chant it three times. Once for ourselves, once for the people in your class and once for the greater world.

Translation: My Truth is my Identity. Inhale Sat. Exhale Nam. (pronounced sut nahm)
This is the reverse of what we usually do when we breathe. We are inhaling while saying, “Sat/Sut” while we draw the belly to the spine. As we relax we say, “Nam” on the Exhale as the belly expands and pushes out.

Sa – Infinity
Ta – Life Existence
Na – Death, change, transformation
Ma – Rebirth

SONGS & MUSIC in this Kriya include:

There is no music in this kriya other than our closing song. If you prefer to practice without music, you will appreciate this recording.

Long Time Sun – Closing song of all Kundalini Yoga classes worldwide.
May the long time sun
Shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light within you
Guide your way on

PRANAYAMA – BREATHING in this Kriya includes:

Sitting in easy pose, holding the cheeks firm, inhale and exhale through your mouth, whistling. You may need to have water close by to moisten your lips.

This pranayama allows you to control your inhale and exhale with your diaphragm. It takes focus to stay with the Whistle Breath for three minutes.

ROCKY’S TAKEAWAY

Kriya for Preparatory Exercises for Lungs, Magnetic Field & Deep Meditation
This is a very heart centered kriya and works on the four upper chakras. As you practice you may get a sense your heart is opening. And there is extra focus on the three upper chakras: throat, third eye and crown. This kriya is all about your breath work. We invert the palms to the ceiling which stretches the forearms.

There is also focus on raising the arms overhead which also stretches the forearms, shoulders and spine. The more intention you create with your breathing practice the deeper your closing meditation will be. This is a very grounding sequence. I love this kriya.

Sat Nam.
